Alan Lee Waugh, 67, of Wichita, died unexpectedly, Sunday, May 28, 2023 in Wichita. Born March 14, 1957, at Columbus, Alan was the son of Donald and Evelyn M. (Bower) Waugh. He attended West Mineral Elementary and graduated from Southeast High School in 1974. Alan had been a resident of Wichita for the last 30 years.
Alan worked as an installer for the Shawn Sign Company in Wichita. He loved to play his guitar. He also collected arrowheads and different rocks and then would use them to make unique pictures.
Alan is survived by a son, Eric Waugh (wife, Jo) of Pittsburg; his father, Donald Waugh of rural McCune; two brothers, David Waugh (wife, Brenda) of rural Pittsburg and Larry Waugh of McCune; a sister, Debra Rider (husband, Steve) of McCune; a granddaughter, Samantha Waugh; and several nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held from 1:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 5 at the Brenner Mortuary. Services will follow at 2 p.m. the funeral home. Reverend Randy Dority will officiate. Burial will follow in the Sherman City Cemetery.
The family suggests memorials be given to the Rett Syndrome Foundation. These may be left at or mailed to the Brenner Mortuary, 114 E. 4th St., Pittsburg, KS 66762. Arrangements are under the direction of Brenner Mortuary.
