Betty Louise ‘Aunt Betty’ Edmondson, 97, of Joplin, Mo., died Wednesday, May 31, 2023 at the Joplin Gardens. Born in Galena, January 16, 1926, she was the daughter of Toby and Effie Tannous-Davis. They preceded her in death. Betty graduated from Galena High School and was a proud homemaker for her husband, Bob and son, Greg.
Betty was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Joplin, Mo. and the Southwestern Bell Pioneers. She enjoyed her time as a “Lady Elk” with the Joplin Elks Lodge #501, flowers, gardening, dancing and going to car shows with her husband.
In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Robert ‘Bob’ Edmondson October 31, 2002; their only son, Gregory, November 16, 2022; three siblings, Robert Davis, Dr. Charles Davis and Marjorie Bock.
Betty is survived by her nephew, Steven Bock (wife, Barbara) of Joplin, Mo.
Graveside services are planned for Monday, June 5 at 10:30 a.m. at Hillcrest Cemetery in Galena. A Rosery service will be held Sunday at 4:30 p.m. with visitation to follow at Parker Mortuary. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Golden Paw Pet Resort or St. Vincent dePaul in care of Parker Mortuary.
Funeral services are under the care of Parker Mortuary, Joplin, Missouri.
