Carolyn Sue Wheelock, 73, of Pittsburg, died Thursday, August 31, 2023, in Kansas City.
Born June 10, 1950, in Columbus, Carolyn was the daughter of Milas and Juanita (Chandler) Allen. She was the third of six children. Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents and one brother David Allen.
Carolyn lived in the area most of her life. She lived in Wichita for several years. She worked for Crawford County Health in the daycare and changing into several titles over her employment there.
Carolyn is survived by two children: Tina Jones (husband Chris) of Pittsburg and Jason Parkison of Los Angeles, Calif.; and two grandchildren: Skyler Jones and Logan Jones. Her brother Donnie Allen (wife Kiyome) Okinawa, Japan; three sisters: Pam Guardado and Mila Jaeger (husband Paul) both of Columbus and Becky Allen of Tulsa, Okla.; along with a host of nieces, nephews and friends also survive.
Cremation arrangements are being handled by Derfelt Funeral Home of Columbus. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 5 p.m to 6:30 p.m. after which a memorial service will take place.
