Robert Fruit, Jr., Overland Park A celebration of life for Robert Paul Fruit, Jr., died peacefully October 9, 2022, with loved ones at his side will be held Saturday, June 3 at 10 a.m. in the Park Cemetery in Columbus. Also being remembered will be Bob’s wife Sue who preceded him in death September 16, 2018 and their son Brian who preceded him November 29, 2021.
Born July 2, 1937, at home on N. Ohio St. in Columbus, Bob was the first child and son of Robert Paul and Florence Louise (Kelley) Fruit.
Bob is survived by his daughter Holly (Joe) Ford of Lenexa, sons David Fruit of Shawnee and Robert Dean (Kim) Fruit of Evansville, Ind. Eight grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and a very special great, great grandson, of whom he was extremely proud also survive. He is also survived by four sisters, Donna Martin, Sharon Hiatt (Larry) both of Columbus, Andrea (Bob) Allenbrand, of Gardner and Wanda (Norman) Hubbard, of LaGrange, Texas; plus numerous nieces, nephews and other friends and family members.
