Cheryl Ann (Coble) Reed, 61, of rural Altamont, died peacefully at her home August 13, 2023. Born October 31, 1961, at Maude Norton Hospital in Columbus, Cheryl was the daughter of Bob and Peggy (Hamilton) Coble.
Cheryl spent her childhood years in Columbus. She was active in Girls Scouts, Central 4-H, soft ball and other activities. She graduated with the class of 1979 from Columbus Unified High School where she was a Varsity cheerleader four years. Later she would attend Coffeyville community college and graduated from Cosmetology School.
Cheryl and Delvin Reed of Altamont were united in marriage June 28, 1980. They began their lives at their home in rural Altamont. To this union was born two children, Justin Ace Reed and Jenna Zay (Reed) She attended Western Way Cowboy Church. Her work history includes Sherwin Williams, K-State Extension office and operating a beauty salon from her home for many years.
Cheryl enjoyed the ranch life, quilting, golf and spending time with her grandchildren and her dog, Mox. Cheryl is survived by her husband Delvin of the home; Justin and his two sets of twin girls Kaycee, Laynee, Mackenzie and Quinn; Jenna and husband Justin Nash and grandson Jace all of Altamont. Her mother Peggy Coble, of Columbus; brother Rick Coble of Carl Junction, Mo.; father-in-law and mother-in- law Gerald and Mary Reed, of Altamont; sister-in-law Kristine (Reed) Foussadier and husband Keith of Grove, Okla. along with several nieces and nephews also survive.
Cheryl was preceded in death by her father, a sister Cathy (Coble) Gurnee, paternal grandmother Mattie Coble, maternal grandparents Tim and Tig Hamilton all of Columbus, several aunts and uncles.
A private family viewing was held at Carson Wells funeral home in Parsons Tuesday. She will be taken for cremation and burial will be held later in the Altamont cemetery.
