Dewayne Allen Monohon, 69, of rural Pittsburg, died Friday, May 19, 2023 at his home. Born July 9, 1953 in Ottumwa, Iowa, Dewayne was the son of Eugene and Betty (Brown) Monohon. They preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.
Dewayne and Sue Waskovsky were united in marriage June 1, 1971. She survives of the home.
Dewayne was a meat packer and farmer most of his career. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved all of his family and friends.
In addition to his wife Sue Monohon of the home, Dewayne is survived by one son David (April) Monohon of Pittsburg, two daughters Shelly Huffine (Eric) of Liberal and Tina (Jason) Westervelt of Cherokee. Grandsons Dakota Westervelt, Carter Westervelt, Kyle(Kendra) Huffine, Brad Huffine, Dean Monohon, and one granddaughter Kelsie(Logan) Elder and two great-granddaughters, Addy Huffine and Hadlie Elder also survive.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, May 25 at the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home in Pittsburg. Reverend Koby Clarkson will officiate. Family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home. Condolences may be left at www.bathnaylor. com.
