Ronald Lee Lindsey, 83, of Columbus, died Thursday, July 13, 2023, following a recent cancer diagnosis. Born October 4, 1939, in Hugo, Oklahoma, Ronald was the son of Vernon and Frances Lindsey. They preceded him in death. In addition to his parents, Ronald was preceded in death by his wife, in-laws Otis and Lorena Proctor, brother-in-law Arnold Proctor, and son-in-law Tommie Turley.
Ronald graduated from Galena Park High School in Galena Park, Texas. He married Janice Proctor March 15, 1963, in Topeka. Ronald served in the Air Force and was a business owner for over 30 years in Onaga, before retiring and moving to Columbus. This allowed him to start a second career for over 18 years as a security guard at Quapaw Casino.
Ronald is survived by his daughters LaDell Lindsey Turley and Janet Lindsey of Columbus; brother Paul “PeeWee” Lindsey and sister-in-law Estela Ozuma of Hugo, Oklahoma; a sister-in-law Sharon Proctor of Topeka; four nephews, Joel Lindsey (Jeania), Jeff Lindsey (Katy), David Proctor (Rebecca) and Marc Proctor (Karen); and a niece, Laura Macuba (Jim).
