Vallie Addis, 70, Oswego

Vallie Marie Addis, 70, of Oswego, died peacefully, surrounded by family at 2:18 p.m. Wednesday, May 17 at the Kansas Heart Hospital, in Wichita. Born January 17, 1953, in Parsons, Vallie was the daughter of Bernard and Lois (Miller) Westhoff, who preceded her in death along with one brother, Dean Westhoff.

Vallie co-owned Cronies Restaurant in Parsons for many years. She later retired from the Oswego School District.

Vallie and Junior Addis were united in marriage September 3, 1983, at Miami, Okla. He survives at the home. Additional survivors include two sons, Josh Addis (Casi), Cherryvale and Jesse Addis, of Oswego; three daughters, Kimberly Smith, of Topeka; Tracy Stuever (Jason), of Goddard, and Bethany Weesner (Steven), of Colwich. Ten grandchildren, Kaleigh and Scottie Smith; Cade Addis; Austin, Jadyn and Brody Stuever; Jackson and Jade Addis; and Henli and Whit Weesner; four brothers, B.J. Westhoff (Marcia), of Bella Vista, Ark.; Michael Westhoff (Loretta), of Tulsa, Okla.; Ren Westhoff, Parsons, KS; and Francis Westhoff, Cherryvale, KS; one sister, Theresa Cameron (Greg), Cherryvale; and one sister-in-law, Tammy Westhoff (Dean), of North Bridge Mass.

The Rosary will be recited Tuesday, May 23 at 5 p.m., at the Derfelt Funeral Home, in Oswego. The family will receive friends following the Rosary service.

Father Larry Parker will celebrate Mass of Christian burial, at 10 a.m., Wednesday, May 24, at the Mother of God Catholic Church, in Oswego. Burial will follow in the Lake Creek Cemetery, in Bartlett.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Oswego School District U.S.D.#504 School Lunch Program and maybe left in care of the funeral home.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Derfelt Funeral Home, of Oswego.
