Ohmart, Laurance open with wins

Lady Titan Junior, Montana Ohmart, picked up where she left off last season with two wins in the first track meet of the season, Thursday, in Altamont. Montana took first in the 800 Meter Run and the 1600 Meter Run at the Labette County Invitational to begin her junior campaign.

Martin, Larison state champs

Columbus Titan Senior, Gabe Martin and Riverton Ram Senior, Derek Larison won the championship in their respective weight classes at the Kansas Class 3A State Powerlifting Competition, Saturday at Smokey Valley High School in Lindsborg.

Titan Tennis has busy first week

The Titan Tennis Team had a busy first week of matches following the rescheduling of their first tournament. The Columbus Invitational Tournament scheduled to open the season, March 22, was moved to Thursday, March 24 due to inclement weather.

Lady Titan JV dominates LCHS

The Lady Titan Junior Varsity opened their season in dominating fashion, Monday, with a 20-2 win over their hosts, Labette County in Altamont. Columbus opened the game with three runs in the top of the first inning.

Titans blank Jr. Vikings in three

A 14-run first inning led the way for a Titan Junior Varsity shutout of the Junior Vikings from Parsons, Tuesday, at Bomber Field in Columbus. Freshman, Syler Schuberger got the start on the mound for Columbus facing just three batters in the top of the first inning.

Columbus outlasts Parsons in home opener

The Columbus Titans scored early and held on for a 4-1 win over Parsons in their 2022 home opener at Bomber Field, Tuesday night. Titan Junior, Kolt Ungeheuer, got the win on the mound with six strike-outs in five and two-thirds innings.

CUHS Golf competes at Miami

CUHS Titan Golfers opened their 2022 season with a tournament in Miami, Okla. The Titan Team is represented by junior, Parker Neely and sophomores, Cole Youngblood, Dallas Scott, Tucker Schalk, and Slade Parker. Columbus scored 436 on their total scorecard and failed to score in the top five.

Titan Track opens with Riverton Jr. Varsity meet

The Columbus Titan Track Team opened their 2022 season with a junior varsity meet at Riverton. Five Titan and Lady Titan athletes placed at the meet. Carter Henry, freshman, placed second in the shot put with a toss of 37 feet, eight inches.

Lady Lions take on Lady Bears in home opener

The Baxter Springs Softball Team opened their 2022 schedule with two wins at home against the Sarcoxie, Missouri Lady Bears. In overtime, the Lady Lions put a run through in the eighth inning to win 6-5. In the night cap, they came from behind to win 8-2.
