Wrestlers wrap season at regional

The Titan Wrestlers had a great day at the Kansas Class 4A Regional C in Frontenac, Saturday. Four Titans are advancing to the state tournament and four wrapped up their 2021-22 season at the regional.

Titan Junior, Jake Eddington wrestled his way to a Kansas Class 4A Regional Championship, Saturday, to earn a trip to the Kansas State Championship 4A Tournament in Salina. Senior, Jacob Scibor placed second.

This 1894 poster could have been made for an Olympic event in the early 1900s or well into the 20th century. Tandem bicycling was a Summer Olympics event in 1908 and then again from 1920 to 1972. Two-rider teams raced for 2,000 meters on tandem bicycles.

The four-year, Titan letterman is one of four Titans to punch their ticket to Salina for the Class 4A State Championship, Friday-Saturday.

CUHS Wrestling to state tomorrow

The Columbus Unified High School Wrestling Teams are headed to Salina for the Kansas Class 4-1A State Girls Tournament tomorrow and Thursday and the Kansas Class 4A State Boys Tournament Friday and Saturday at the Tony’s Pizza Event Center.

The Lady Titan Basketball Team swept the Lady Bulldogs in varsity and junior varsity action at Galena, Friday. The twogame sweep was the second of the week for the Lady Titans following a Tuesday sweep of Baxter Springs in Columbus.

The Galena Bulldogs clenched the CNC League Boys Basketball Championship with their commanding 20-point win over the Columbus Titans, Friday night in Galena. The Bulldogs improved their record to 18-1 to lead the Kansas State High School Class 3A Standing in the Fredonia Sub-State.

Lion slump leads to Titan win

A second half slump cost the Baxter Springs Lions a win in Columbus, Tuesday, as the Titans rallied for a 58-40 win on Senior Night at the CUHS Gymnasium. The Lions won the tip, but the Titans scored first on a trey by junior, Kolt Ungeheuer, two minutes into the defense heavy first quarter.
