Girl’s Softball sign-ups open

The Columbus Girl’s Softball League has started the process of sign-ups for the 2022 season by sending forms home from school this week for potential softball players. Forms can be returned to Ronda at Park School, Dana at Highland School, and Krista Vilela at Central School.

The Columbus Recreation Mini Titan Basketball Teams are hosting Baxter Springs, tomorrow in three, USD 493 Gymnasiums. Each venue will start at 8 a.m.

Titan Wrestlers to 4A Regional

The Columbus Titan Wrestling Team is sending eight wrestlers to the Kansas Class 4A Regional C Tournament in Frontenac, tomorrow. The squad of eight will be short juniors, Cade Saporito at 132 and Jadyn Hale at 170 who are both out with injury.

Titan JV falls to junior Lions

A slow start for the Columbus Titan Junior Varsity Squad was too much to overcome in their 36- 42 loss to Baxter Springs, Tuesday at the Central Junior High School Gym. Cole Youngblood, Titan Sophomore, gave the Titans a quick, 3-0, lead before the junior Lions came charging back.

Titan Senior, Kody Schalk, accepted his official invitation to play in the 49th Annual Kansas Shrine Bowl, during the Titan Basketball games, Tuesday at the CUHS Gymnasium.

Lady Titan Basketball sweeps Baxter Springs

The Lady Titans used an explosive first quarter to score 18 points and put themselves in a very comfortable position for the remainder of game, cruising to a 55-26 win over Baxter Springs on Senior Night, Tuesday at the CUHS Gymnasium.

CUHS games reset for tonight

The final regular season road games for the Titan and Lady Titan Basketball Teams have been rescheduled for tonight in Galena. The games were postponed from last night due to impending road conditions and chillly temperatures.

Sarwinski’s set records in sweep

Galena Senior, Brett Sarwinski and sister Mia Sarwinski, junior, led their teams to a double win over Riverton, Tuesday. Brett and the Bulldogs beat the visiting Rams, 55-31, while Mia and the Lady Bulldogs got past the Lady Rams, 44-42.

Mini Titan basketball results

Columbus Recreation Youth Basketball League hosted the Riverton League and a the first, second and sixth grade Galena teams, Saturday. All three USD 493 gymnasiums were bustling with action throughout the morning. The Mini Titans will be hosting Baxter Springs tomorrow.

Basketball seniors recognized

Lady Titan Bianca Cevenini was recognized during Senior Night ceremonies at the Columbus Unified High School Gymnasium, Tuesday. Bianca is a one-year member of the Lady Titan Basketball Team.
