High school sports are always competitive. It is important in a small school that students participate in many activities. Playing multiple sports, being involved in clubs, choir, band, and other organizations keeps the student athletes extremely busy.

Columbus Titan Senior, Gabe Martin, signed a National Letter of Intent to play football at Baker University this fall. Gabe is an All-CNC League, All-District, and All-State honoree. He made a place for himself in the Titan record books during his career at CUHS.

Lions Lose Squeaker to Erie

The Erie Red Devils pulled out a 41-40 squeaker in the boys’ basketball game in the Lion’s Den, Tuesday, at Baxter Springs. The Lions led 33-30 going into the low scoring fourth. Senior, Garett Paxson, started the fourth with a field goal.

Lady Titans to 4-1A Wrestling Regional

Ten Columbus Lady Titan Wrestlers will be traveling to Chanute tomorrow for the Kansas Class 4-3-2-1A Regional B. One of four regional events across the state with 111 total teams. Baldwin, Colby, and Whitewater/ Remington will be hosting the other three tournaments.
The Central Junior High Titan Seventh Grade Basketball Team placed fifth in the final CCCJL Tournament, Monday in Baxter Springs. The Titans took wins over Galena and Frontenac in the consolation bracket to earn the fifth place distinction. Titan Seventh Grade fifth in CCJL

The Central Titan Seventh Grade Basketball Team completed their season with a pair of wins in the consolation portion of the CCCJ League Tournament at Baxter Springs. Galena was the first to fall to the Titans, 41-18, followed by a 40-33, win over Frontenac.

Post season honors for McDown, Sarwinski

Emporia State linebacker Jace McDown and Pittsburg State linebacker P.J. Sarwinski both earned All-American honors from the Don Hansen Football Committee. McDown was named honorable mention All-American at linebacker.

Seth Stover - Titan Basketball Titan Junior, Seth Stover, scored 21 points in the Titans win over Riverton, Tuesday at the CUHS Gymnasium. He is being recognized as Titan of the Week. Stover‘s game high performance came in the third Columbus win over the Rams this season.

Central Titans in CCCJL Tourney

The Central Junior High School Boys Basketball Teams will play in the consolation bracket of the CCCJ League Tournament, today and Thursday, in Baxter Springs. The Seventh Grade Team is seeded seventh based on regular season standings.

Lions hosting league finale

The Baxter Springs Lions will host the 2022 CCCJL Tournament, today and Thursday at the Baxter Springs High School Gymnasiums. Semi-final rounds will be held today in the main gymnasium. The seventh graders will kick off the tournament with the number two seed, St.

Homecoming Thursday at CUHS

The Columbus Unified High School Winter Homecoming festivities scheduled for last Friday have been rescheduled for Thursday at the CUHS Gymnasium. The basketball games against St. Mary’s-Colgan will begin at the high school with the varsity girls playing at 6 p.m.
