Titan Senior, Trent Smith, won his dual match against Pittsburg and took third at the highly competitive, Augusta Invitational. He is being recognized as Titan of the Week. Trent wrestles in the 152-pound weight class and has a current record of 13-5.

The Columbus Titan Wrestling Team hosted the Pittsburg Purple Dragons, Thursday, for a non-league dual. Pittsburg won six matches on the mat and took four wins in open slots on the Titan roster to win the dual, 55-24. Columbus won four matches, all by pin.

The Girard Lady Trojans won the two quarters of junior varsity girls basketball, 25-19, in Columbus Friday night. The Lady Titans outscored the Lady Trojans, 11-9, in the first period of the shortened contest. Freshman, Katy Mooney, score five points.

The St. Mary’s-Colgan Panthers held on to win a close contest, Friday night in Riverton, nipping the Rams, 52-48. Entering the match up, the Panthers (5- 1) and the Rams were both held under their season average of 59 for Colgan and 56 for Riverton.

The Columbus Wrestling Club Mini Wrestlers spent part of their New Year’s Holiday on the mat in Erie at the Red Devil Jamboree. The group of 12 wrestlers scored seven first place wins and six seconds with Keegan Blackledge in both the 10U and 12U age groups.

The Girard Lady Trojans opened with a ten point lead, 14-4, and breezed to a 50-16 win over the Lady Titans in Columbus, Friday night. Senior, Faith Poland, put six points on the scoreboard for the Lady Trojans in the first quarter on her way to a 17 point game high on the night.
