Lady Titan Sophomore, Grace Major, knocked down a threepoint shot at the buzzer to capture a “walk-off” win over the Lady Rams, 31- 28, Friday in Riverton.

Lady Titans earn JV win at Riverton

The Columbus High School Lady Titan Junior Varsity Team won their two quarters of play at Riverton, 29-12, Friday in Riverton. The Lady Titans scored 19 points in the first quarter, fueled by four three-pointers from freshman, Katy Mooney.

Lady Titan Sophomore, Grace Major, banked in a shot from the opposite end of the court with a softball throw heard throughout the gymnasium, Friday, in Riverton. The shot broke a 28-28 tie and gave Columbus the “walk-off” win in the CNC League match up with the Lady Rams.

Free throws lead to Titan win

Free throws win ball games and they were sure a contributing factor in the Columbus Titan win over Riverton, 46-45, Friday in Riverton. The Titans made 77 percent of their charity shots to add 17 points to their final tally. The Rams went four of ten at the line for a 40 percent average.

Titan Junior Varsity handed loss by Rams

The Titan Junior Varsity suffered a loss on the road, Friday night in Riverton, 30-45, as they closed out their pre-Christmas break schedule. Junior, Michael Shepard, scored four of his game-high, 12 points in the first quarter to aid the Rams in earning a 10-7 advantage early.

Lady Lions over Lady Lancers 49-20 Friday

The Lady Lions jumped out to a 16-3 lead after the first period against the Lady Lancers in Cherokee Friday night and never looked back, coming home with a 49-20 win. In the first quarter, junior Hallee White, hit a three-pointer plus a field goal. Senior, Olivia Turley, also hit a trey.

Lancers outlast Lions Friday night for win at home

Threes rained in Cherokee when the Baxter Springs Boys’ basketball team traveled to Southeast Friday night. Junior, Cade Burdette, led the Lancers with seven, three-pointers as they held on in a tight match for the win, 60-56. Burdette connected on four, beyond the arc, shots in the opening period.

The Columbus Titan Wrestling Club Novice and Girl’s Wrestlers participated in the Diamond Novice/Girls Tournament, Sunday, in Diamond, Mo.

Raiders slay Lions in Baxter Springs

The Lion Basketball Boys fell behind, 6-10, in the first quarter against Frontenac in Baxter Springs, Friday. A 15-point run in the third quarter by the Raiders sent them on to a, 68-31, win. Senior, Kaden Niday, had two baskets in the first period and junior, Logan Gess, had one.
