Korbyn Newberry, Titan Freshman, took third in his first high school outing at the Kan-Okla Tourney, Saturday in Coffeyville. Korbyn won a 9-3 decision over Dagan Turner, Leon-Bluestem Sophomore.

Titan Senior, Trent Smith

Titan Senior, Trent Smith, placed second in the 160 weight class at the Kan-Okla Tourney in Coffeyville, Saturday. Trent won his match over JJ White, Pittsburg Junior, in an 8-2 decision before losing the championship match to Bryce Eck, Uniontown Senior by fall.

Titans win tournament opener

The Columbus Titan Varsity completed a three-game sweep over the Southeast Lancers, Tuesday, with a 65-54 win in Cherokee. The win came in the first round of the St. Paul Mark Terlip Classic Tournament and evened the Titans record at 1-1 to start the season.

Lady Titans take win at Southeast

The Columbus Lady Titans earned their first win of the season and the St. Paul Mark Terlip Tournament, Tuesday, in Cherokee with a 35-23 victory over the Lady Lancers. Senior, Lily Mooney, gave Columbus the first lead of the game with a three-pointer nearly two minutes into the action.

TITAN OF THE WEEK

Titan Senior, Kody Schalk, was recently named a finalist for Defensive Player of the Year by Sports in Kansas who also named him All-State First Team Defensive Line and he continues to post accolades from across the state. He is being recognized at Titan of the Week.

Lady Rams use triple double to top Lady Chargers 58-47

Three Lady Rams finished in double figures in their opening season, 58-47, win against the Lady Chargers. Sophomores, Chloe Parker and E J Wells, each finished with 15 points and junior Jacy Thomasson had 14.

Mini Titan wrestlers open season with Seneca, Mo., Open Tourney

The Columbus Wrestling Club entered the Seneca, Mo. Open Tournament, Sunday, for their season opener. Numerous Mini Titan Wrestlers were successful on the mats.

Lady Titans have Rough season opener

The Lady Titan Basketball Team went down in a rough season opener, 22-52, Friday, in Pittsburg against the St. Mary’s-Colgan Lady Panthers.

Titans open season on the road against Cogan Panthers

The Columbus Titan Basketball Team opened their 2021 season on the road in Pittsburg, Friday night. The host Panther squad used a 24-point third quarter to capture a 65-49 win over their visitors at the St. Mary’s-Colgan Fieldhouse.
