Lady Titan Volleyball hosts Senior Night

Lady Titan, Bianca Cevenini, a foreign exchange student at Columbus High School, was recognized during volleyball senior night, Tuesday, at the CUHS Gymnasium. Bianca is a one-year member of the Lady Titan Volleyball Team. She was escorted by her host parents, Kyle and Tanya Robnett.

Titan Football at home Saturday

The Columbus Mini Titans will play the Baxter Springs Lions tomorrow at Titan Stadium. The 3rd/4th game will be at 5 p.m. followed by the 5/6th at 7 p.m. The Columbus 5/6th at Frontenac game scheduled for last Saturday was post-poned. It will be made up Tuesday in Columbus.

Columbus Mini Wrestling signups will be taken at Friday night’s Titan Football game against Galena at Titan Stadium. See Lorie Johnson for information at the game.

Central Lady Titans to host CCCJL Volleyball

The Central Junior High Lady Titan Volleyball Team will host the CCCJL Tournament, tomorrow night, at the Central New Gym, the Round-Top Gym and High School Gymnasiums. The seventh and eighth grades will have separate tournaments. A league tournament champion will be crowned for each class.

Hot Shots contest Saturday to benefit local food pantry

The the Red Iron Activity Center is hosting a Hot Shots Competition, Saturday, to benefit the Columbus Food Pantry. Competition begins at 11 a.m. with new rounds beginning at noon, 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. A Championship round is scheduled for 3 p.m. Each hour begins with a game of Knock Out.

SE Volleyball 1-4 to closeout September

The Southeast Lady Lancers lost to the Lady Titans in a best-of-five dual in Columbus, September 23. The Lady Titans won in three straight sets, 25- 12; 25-19; 25-21, on their home court.

Titan Soccer hosts Parsons Vikings

Columbus Junior, Patrick DoByns and freshman, Brylie Johnson, battle against a Parsons player for control of the ball in Tuesday’s soccer match on the Titan Soccer Pitch at the Central Junior High School Campus.

Lancers lose district bout to Colgan

Marking the first meeting since 2015, the Southeast Lancers and St. Mary’s Colgan Panthers met for a Class 2A District 1 showdown at Hutchinson Field. The Panthers prevailed 34-12 on a partly cloudy Thursday night for their second consecutive victory.

SE Middle School game rescheduled

USD 247 has announced that the Southeast Middle School Football game against the St. Paul Indians, that was postponed Thursday due to weather, has been rescheduled for Monday, October 11th in St. Paul. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m.
