Jones signs to run with Pittsburg State Track

Lady Titan Senior, Kerri Jones, signed a National Letter of Intent to continue her career on the track with the Pittsburg State University Lady Gorilla Track and Field Team in the fall.

Joe Pat Skye Memorial Benefit held

The Joseph Pat Skye Memorial Baseball Tournament has become a wellknown tradition for Baxter Springs. Bringing 36 baseball teams into town really had businesses booming. This was the fourth year of the tournament and it completely filled up on the first day it was announced.

Lady Lancers set volleyball camp

The Southeast High School Volleyball staff and players are holding a grade school camp, June 1-4. Head Coach Maya White and her staff along with current and former high school players will be instructors for the 4-day event.

Panter throws Lions shutout

Baxter Springs Softball Pitcher, Halee Panter, threw an 11-0, shutout on the mound in the second game at Parsons, Monday for the 11-5 Lady Lions. In five innings she faced 18 batters out of a perfect fifteen. Parsons had one base hit, one reached on an error and one reached on a fielder’s choice.

Jr. High Golf moved to Tuesday

The Central Junior High School Golf Tournament has been changed to Tuesday due to wet weather conditions. The league tournament will begin at 1 p.m. at the Brush Creek Golf Tournament.

Lady Titans take Sr. Night sweep

Columbus took two wins from Riverton in a CNC League double header on Senior Night, Monday at Rockette Field. The Lady Titans got a run-rule win, 15-5, in game one and 6-0 shut out in game two for the sweep. The Lady Rams had their biggest inning of the night to start game one.

Lady Titans dominate JV tourney

The Columbus Lady Titan Junior Varsity dominated their round-robin tournament, Saturday, winning two games, 16-2, over Frontenac and 15-3 over Galena. The Lady Bulldogs rallied to beat the Lady Raiders, 6-5 in the third game of the day.

Two Lion Pitchers combine for no-hitter

Seniors, Brandon Kelley and Pierce Stolte combined for an 11-0, no-hitter, win for the Baxter Springs Lions in a non-conference bout against the Vikings in Parsons, Monday. Kelley started for the Lions, pitching the first three innings and Stolte closed out the last two.
