Lions, Panthers split CNC bout

Pitcher, Kameron Williamson, got the Lions off to a good start before the home fans Monday night, taking a 10-6 win over the visiting CNC League rival Colgan Panthers. The Lions split the double header, losing the second game, 5-6.

Baxter Springs, now 5-4 for the season, on their home softball field suffered a twin bill loss to St Mary’s-Colgan (9-1), Monday in Baxter Springs. The first game was 3-2, and the second game wasn’t close at 11-2.

Columbus’ Bailey Monroe signs with Pitt State Lady Titan Senior, Bailey Monroe, signed a letter of intent to join the Pittsburg State University Track Team for the Fall 2021 season. The four-year letter winner currently holds the school record in the javelin at 121'0".

Titan Golf Fourth at Baxter Springs

Columbus Titan Golf took fourth place at the Baxter Springs Invitational, Monday. In the eight team field, the Titans tallied 423 strokes on their combined score cards. Frontenac was the team winner with a 353 score, St. Mary’s-Colgan placed second with 378 and Independence was third with 384.

Preston Mullere tied for first in number two singles to lead the Titan Tennis Team at Pittsburg, Thursday. The senior won three matches and lost one to tie with Derek Jones from Labette County.

The Central Junior High School Golf Team played in Pittsburg, Monday. Although the young Titans did not have anyone place in the top ten, Jett Tanner shot a 54 to lead the team to a 244 total.

Eighth Grade Titans win Riverton Invitational

The Central Titan Eighth Grade Boys Thinclad Team won their division in the Riverton Invitational, Thursday. Columbus scored 68 team points for the title and Galena was second with 61 points.

Central Titan Track and Field hosted the Seventh Grade Invitational, Monday, at the Central Junior High School Track. Webb City, Mo. dominated the boy’s division, scoring 128 team points. St. Mary’s-Colgan placed second with 86 points, Riverton was third with 67 points.
