Columbus, Baxter Springs 1-1 in CNC League double header split

The Lady Titans and the Lady Lions shared wins in the CNC League opening match-up, Monday in Baxter Springs. Columbus scored early and held off the Lady Lions to win the first game, 6-3.

Lady Grizzlies foil comeback

The Labette County Lady Grizzlies foiled a come-back attempt by the Lady Titans to take their second win in four days, 10-9, April 1 in Columbus. LCHS edged the Lady Titan Junior Varsity Squad, 4-3, Monday in Altamont.

Baxter Springs wins two over Titan JV

The Baxter Springs Lions edged the Columbus Titans in a 6-5, come-from-behind win in the top half of a CNC League double header, Tuesday in Columbus. In the night cap, the young Lions took an early lead and held off their hosts for the win, 9-4.

Galena hosts Bulldog Junior High Invitational

Three Central Titan Teams placed in the top three and the fourth placed fifth in the Bulldog Junior High Invitational, Tuesday in Galena. The Columbus Eighth Grade Boys and Girls Teams placed second in their divisions. The Titans tied Riverton with 100 team points behind Galena with 104 points.

Titan Track, Field wins double in Oswego meet

The Columbus Track and Field Team ran away with both the boys and girls team trophies at the Oswego High School Invitational Track and Field Meet, Tuesday. The Titans nearly doubled the second place team score with 144 points.

Lions led by new staff

Coach Cordaro Baldwin has been promoted from assistant coach to head baseball coach of the Baxter Springs Lions. Coach Baldwin welcomes two new assistant coaches, Chase Johnston and former Lion, Tyler Underhill.

Southeast Lancers place in Galena

The Southeast Lancers earned fourth place in team standings out of 17 teams, scoring 51 team points. Girard was first in team honors with 159 points and Riverton placed second with 66 team points. Boys results Southeast 3200M Run: Matthew Fleck, second 11:29.

The Lance Varsity and Junior Varsity Baseball games scheduled for Thursday, April 15 has been relocated. The games against Liberal, Mo. were originally scheduled to be played in Cherokee on the Lancers home field but have been move to Liberal, Mo. First pitch will be 4:30 p.m.
