Titan JV Baseball adds games

The Titan Junior Varsity Squad has added a tournament to their schedule Friday and Saturday. The young Titans will play in the Joplin Eagle Baseball Festival beginning with a double header Friday night. Columbus will open with a game against Neosho, Missouri at 6 p.m. followed by an 8 p.m.

Titan Senior, Preston Mullere placed first in number two singles in two consecutive tournaments. He is being recognized as Titan of the Week. Preston placed first in the Independence Invitational, March 29 and the Fort Scott Tiger Tournament, March 30 in the number two singles division.

Titans split CNC opener with Lions

Titan Varsity Baseball split a double header with the Lions in Baxter Springs, Monday. The hosts won the CNC League opener, 16-3 and the Titans won the night cap, 8-3. Columbus started with a 3-1 lead at the end of the first inning of game one.

Titan Golf opens season on links

A young Columbus Titan Golf Team kicked off their season March 29 in Miami, Oklahoma. The team placed fourth overall with a combined team score of 471 strokes. Sophomore, Cody Ediger, was low man for the Titans with 105 followed by Luke Gray, freshman, with 115. Colt Manning from Pawhuska, Okla.

Titans open with Jr. Varsity meet

Columbus Unified High School opened their 2021 Spring Track season with a Junior Varsity meet in Riverton, Tuesday. The Titans placed second with 87 points in a field of six teams. Girard took top honors with 99 points and Riverton placed fourth with 41.5 points. Southeast had 17 points.
Lady Titan Senior, Kerri Jones, placed first in the 100M Hurdles at the Labette County Invitational, Thursday in Altamont. Kerri placed first in the 100M Dash and second in the 200M Dash to open the 2021 Track season.

Lady Titans win six at LC Meet

The Columbus Lady Titans tied for third in their first varsity meet of the 2021 season, Thursday in Altamont. The ladies racked up 78 points, with the help of six first place winners, to tie with Independence at the Labette County Invitational Meet.

Titan Baseball 4-0 to start 2021

Titan Varsity Baseball completed a sweep of the Labette County Grizzlies with a 12-2 win, Thursday at Bomber Field. The week began with a 14-0 shut out, Monday in Altamont, by the end of the week, Columbus had improved their record to 4-0 to start the season.

The Titan Junior Varsity Baseball Team swept in two games play on two nights last week. The junior squad picked up their first win of the season on the road with a 15-1 thrashing of the Grizzlies in Altamont, Monday they edged past the visiting Labette County team, 3-2, at home, Thursday.
