Cherokee County Health Department officials have temporarily moved their offices to 120 South Deleware in Columbus. Plans are to remain in the temporary location until the new offices are completed.

Record rainfall causes flooding, heat advisory

Rains fell overnight June 7 and 8 dousing the county with amounts topping nearly 8” in the northern portions of the county.Many residents awoke Monday morning to find driveways, roads, basements and in some cases living rooms flooded.

CAC picnic in park returns

Mark your calendars for Sunday, June 14. The Columbus Area Churches are having a Picnic at the Park. The picnic was an annual event put on by the C.A.C every fall until around 2019 as Covid came and there hasn’t been one since.But, June 14 at 5 p.m. that will all change.
