Thanks to the help of the Imagine Columbus group, the community garden located at Maple and Magnolia has been planted and prepared for summer long production. The garden was started in 2019 and is currently home to a variety of fruits and vegetables.

A crack in an aged copper waterline outside of the county extension office had Columbus Public Works crews busy Tuesday afternoon. The crews replaced the line with modern PEX piping that is better able to handle changes in temperature and is corrosion proof.

Cherokee County Jail Report

River Dale Riddle, 21, was arrested Thursday by Cherokee County Sheriff’s Deputies on charges of traffic contraband in correctional or care facility and is being held in lieu of $10,000 bail.

Labette County Jail Report

Aaron Lee Clark 25, was arrested Wednesday by Chetopa Police officers on two counts of lewd and lascivious and is being held without bail.
