Deborah Eileen (Kapple) Haddock, 71, of Columbus, died January 26, 2022, at 11:48 a.m. Freeman Hospital in Joplin, Mo. Born January 11, 1951 in Columbus, Debe was the daughter of Patty Mahy and Victor Kapple. She was a graduate of Cherokee County Rural High School with the class of 1968.

Kevin L. “Slick 50” Gregory, 50, of Edna, died unexpectedly at his home Sunday, January 23, 2022. Born November 14, 1971, in Coffeyville, Kevin was the son of Lynn Stanley and Elizabeth Anne (King) Gregory. He grew up in rural Edna.

Mary Ellen Keyser, 89, of Galena, died at 4:30 p.m., Sunday, January 23, 2022 at her home following an illness. Born August 15, 1932 in Galena, Mary Ellen was the daughter of John Warren and Grace Jeanette (Oliver) Chase. She lived most of her life in Galena.

Norma Davis

Norma was a surprise baby, but not a surprise to her mother, Nellie. Twelve hours after the birth of her twin brother, Opal and after Nellie’s insistence, “I know there is another one!” Norma was born August 21, 1942, in Granby, Mo. The midwife said she was too frail to survive.
