A Celebration of Life service for Mary Lynn Cupp will be held Saturday, October 23, at the First Methodist Church in Columbus. A graveside service will be held following at Messer Cemetery.

Gary Lanson George 83, of Battlefield, Mo. died October 9, 2021. He was born July 4, 1938 in Jefferson City, Mo. He was the son of John Hannibal and Marion Geraldine (Hornbuckle) George. Gary served proudly in the United States Navy for four years.

James Arthur Tharp, 80, Miami, Okla., died Thursday, October 7, 2021 at Freeman Hospital, in Joplin, Mo. Born February 15, 1941, in Picher, Okla., James was the son of Paul Tharp and Hazel Schrup Tharp. James and Peggy Mitchel were united in marriage December 28, 1962 in Baxter Springs.

Marilyn J. (Elliott) Weltmer-Robison, 90 of Mission died at 5:50 p.m. Sunday, October 10, 2021. Born February 26, 1931 in Hallowell Marilyn was the daughter of Ernest E. Elliott and Maxine M. (Bramlett) Elliott. She was a graduate of Oswego High School.

Wendell Boyd “Tex” Stamps, 64,of Baxter Springs, died Thursday, September 30, 2021, at the Mercy Hospital, in Joplin, Mo. Born February 5, 1957 in Cleburne, Texas, Wendell was the son of Jimmie Ray Stamps and Wilma Dean Carter Stamps. Tex worked all his life as a mechanic.
