Titans prep for 2026 football season

Jacianna Heflin and Chloe Ash, Columbus Unified High School Seniors, received $300 scholarships from the Mercy Columbus Auxiliary from Auxiliary Representative, Lucille McNemar, during the 2026 Senior Assembly, May 15, at the CUHS Gymnasium.

Seniors, Trinity Green and Morgan Richards, received the Tom Goettel Scholarship in the amount of $1,000 each from USD 493 Staff Member, Jerry Smiley, during the 2026 Senior Assembly, May 15, at the Columbus Unified High School Gymnasium.

Hunter Ruddick, Jayden Rodriguez and Cal Saporito, CUHS Seniors, received recognition of achievements for the Crossland Kickstart Program from Marta Brown, Crossland Representative during the Senior Assembly, May 15, at the Columbus Unified High School Gymnasium.

CUHS Senior, Lemmie Stone, received the Columbus Alumni Scholarship for $600 from Rebecca Spooner during the May 15 Senior Assembly at the Columbus Unified High School Gymnasium.

Martha Flanagan Democratic Scholarship

Trinity Green was the recipient of the PEO Scholarship in the amount of $500 during the Senior Assembly, May 15, at the CUHS Gym. The award was presented by Jane Rhinehart, PEO Representative.

Columbus Unified High School Titan Head Football Coach, Blake Burns and Emporia State University Defensive Coordinator, Jace McDown, oversee drills taking place during a recent contact camp hosted in Columbus with the assistance of the Emporia State Staff. Both coaches saw time on the gridiron as former Titan Players and are giving back to the youth of the Fighting Titan Community and surrounding area. Five schools participated in the camp that was held at the Central School Soccer Pitch.
