Reigning Kansas Little League Baseball District 2 Administrator, Wayne Metcalf, hands out awards to teams competing in the Kansas State Little League Championship Tournament in Baxter Springs, July 24-25. The Pittsburg JL Hutchinson League All-Stars won the 11-12 year-old division over The JOCO Navy (Royals Amateur Development System) in a close bestof- three series hosted by the Baxter Springs Little League at Wayne Metcalf Field.

Katelyn Draeger received the $500 Class of 1986 Friendship Scholarship and the Charles and Jane Maxwell Memorial Scholarship for $750 (renewable for four years) during the May 15 Senior Assembly at the Columbus Unified High School Gymnasium. CACF Board Member, Kelly Walters and USD 493 Superintendent Dan Grundy presented the awards.

Mackenzie Richards was the recipient of the Columbus Cares Scholarship in the amount of $500 during the Senior Assembly, May 15, at the Columbus Unified High School Gymnasium. CACF Board Member, Kelly Walters and USD 493 Superintendent Dan Grundy presented the awards.

Jacianna Heflin and Piper Hayes received the Marcia Smith Memorial Scholarship in the amount of $500 each from CUHS Instrumental Music Assistant Director, Christine Lovell and Instrumental Director Gae Phillips during the Senior Assembly, May 15, at the Columbus Unified High School Gymnasium.

Piper Hayes, Trinity Green, Mackenzie Richards, and Katelyn Draeger each received a $1,000 scholarship from CACF Board Member, Kelly Walters and USD 493 Superintendent Dan Grundy.
