Cherokee County Jail Report

Shane Edward Fisher, 46, was arrested Sunday by Baxter Springs Police officers on charges of possession of certain depressants and operating a motor vehicle without a valid license and is being held in lieu of $945 bail.

Labette County Jail Report

Tori Mae Higgins, 34, was arrested Sunday by Oswego Police officers on charges of domestic battery; knowing rude physical contact with family member or dating relationship, driving while suspended and vehicle liability insurance required and was released on $878.50 bail.

Baxter P.E.O. celebrates Cinco de Mayo

A Mexican buffet catered by a local restaurant was on the agenda for the P.E.O. Chapter BT of Baxter Springs when they celebrated Cinco de Mayo at noon on Monday, May 2 in the Fellowship Hall at the United Methodist Church in Baxter Springs. Alma Cook and Linda Crotts served as hostesses.
