Area Accident Report

An accident involving a Cherokee County road grader occurred Wednesday afternoon. A 2015 Buick driven by Ashton Hucke, rear ended the back of a northbound road grader driven by Michael Moore. The accident occurred near Southwest 90th and Messer Road. Michael Shaw was a passenger in the Buick.

FD to oversee July 4 events

Outdoor family fun is already being planned for next summer in Columbus. City Park will see the annual Fourth of July fireworks show return to town. The 2022 celebration may even look a little bigger and better than ever before, thanks to some new names attached to it.

Weekly football contest winners announced

As the regular prep football District Play comes to an end the contest becomes more difficult. Mike Ellis took first place. He and both other winners missed the loss of St. Mary’s Colgan to Riverton. Dennis Frazier took the second place money and Earl Eddington came in third.

Todd Houser sits in a chair donating blood in the community building last Monday. The Community Blood Center of the Ozarks held a blood drive in the location that day and had a goal of thirty-five donations. Houser was one of at least fifty-two donors to participate in the event.
