Area Accident Report

An accident involving a Cherokee County road grader occurred Wednesday afternoon. A 2015 Buick driven by Ashton Hucke, rear ended the back of a northbound road grader driven by Michael Moore. The accident occurred near Southwest 90th and Messer Road. Michael Shaw was a passenger in the Buick.

Attempted shooting leads to arrest

Attempted murder charges are pending on a Baxter Springs man after his gun misfired twice. Baxter Springs Police officers responded to an incident Tuesday night where Dale Alan Simmons was reported to have gone to the residence of a former family member, pointed a gun and pulled the trigger twice.
