RSVP for Scottish Rite meet

All members of the Southeast Kansas Scottish Rite are asked to attend the Stated Dinner and Meeting Thursday, May 6 at the Armstrong Masonic Lodge, 3105 North Joplin Street, Pittsburg. Social Hour begins at 5:30 p.m., Dinner will be at 6:30 p.m. and the Meeting will start at approximately 7 p.m.

Area Accident Report

A car vs. deer accident occurred April 20 at approximately 8:24 p.m. A 2018 Hyundai driven by Michael Hall, 49, Girard, was traveling east on Northeast Highway 400. Hall struck a deer in the roadway near Northeast 30th Street. Cherokee County Sheriff’s Deputies investigated.

LCC auction raises funds for scholarships

The preliminary numbers for the 2021 Labette Community College Foundation Online Auction raised over $34,000. The funds raised will be used to fund student scholarships for the 2021-22 academic year.

Thompson third at Parsons Invite

Lady Titan Eighth Grader, Mallory Thompson, finished third in the Parsons Invitational Golf Tournament, Tuesday at the Katy Golf Course. Anna Head eighth grader, placed tenth in the girls division. Seventh grader, Jett Tanner tied for 10th in the boys division but lost in a playoff to finish 11th.
