The first Columbus Classic disc golf benefit tournament for Titan Kids was held Saturday, April 10, at the Columbus City Park. 35 golfers from Columbus, Pittsburg, Miami, Parsons, Joplin, and other towns competed in three divisions, Advanced, Senior, and Recreation.

Cherokee County Jail Report

David Orland Vickers, 42, was arrested Sunday by Cherokee County Sheriff’s Deputies on charges of driving under the influence and was released on $100 bail. James Leroy Bilke, 48, was arrested Saturday by Cherokee County Sheriff’s Deputies on a warrant and is being held without bail.

Area Accident Report

A one-vehicle accident occurred April 10 at approximately 6:19 a.m. A 2019 Mack semi tractor pulling a 2015 Vanguard trailer, driven by Mosezell Boone Jr., 55, North Kansas City, Mo., was traveling east on US Highway 400 when the driver experienced a medical event causing him to lose consciousness.
