Natalie Renee Turner, 33, was arrested Saturday by Baxter Springs Police officers on charges of aggravated assault of a law enforcement officer and is being held in lieu of $5,000 bail.

The line-up of speakers at the Farm Bureau Legislative Dinner gave those attending an introspective view of three different levels of government from the inside. The meeting opened with Senator Robert Marshall, fresh from a Town Hall meeting earlier in the evening.

Vaccine volunteers needed

On Thursday March 4, a drive-thru COVID-19 vaccination clinic will take place at the fairgrounds in Columbus. Volunteers are needed to assist with directing cars, registration, and observation. Approximately 14 volunteers for either part of the day or for the entire duration of clinic.

Prizeweek consolation prize winner

There was no grand prize winner in the Prizeweek Puzzle contest this past week. There were three tied for the consolation prize and Warren Duley won the drawing for the $10 in Columbus Gift Certificates.
