Each year, American football’s championship game is one of the most-watched television broadcasts across the globe. The Super Bowl might not kick off until early evening in the eastern United States, but the day’s festivities typically begin much earlier than that.

Sheep, goat meeting held

Several months has passed since activities at the Cherokee County Extension office has been scheduling programs for the agricultural community. Thursday evening a sheep-goat meeting in the 4-H building drew about 20 interested shepherds.

Prizeweek Puzzle consolation winner

No grand prize winner in the Prizeweek Puzzle last week as the brain teaser continues to baffle the players. Carol Mattox was the consolation prize winner this week missing three of the preferred answers of the puzzle writer. Mattox will receive $10 in Chamber Gift Certificates.

County administers 500 COVID vaccines in week

The Cherokee County Health Department has administered nearly 500 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine. “We have had three public drive thru events, two in Columbus and one in Galena” said Sheriff David Groves.
