Donald Wayne Merwarth, 83, of Oswego, died at 3:30 p.m., Sunday, December 12, 2021 at Labette Health, in Parsons, following an illness. Born June 14, 1938, in Parsons, Donald was the son of George Wayne and Rhea (Wilson) Merwarth. He was a lifetime resident.

Mary Jane Lucchi, of Joplin, Mo., died Friday, December 10, 2021 at Landmark Hospital in Joplin, Mo. Born in Cherokee Mary graduated from Crawford Community High School in Cherokee. She attended classes at Pittsburg State College.

George Turnbought, Baxter Springs

George Albert Turnbough, Sr., 82, of Baxter Springs, died Sunday. December 5, 2021, at Mercy Hospital, Joplin, Mo. Born September 25, 1939, in Chetopa, George was the son of Albert Turnbough and Ruth Kepner Turnbough. They preceded him in death.

Garry DeGraff, Carl Junction, Mo.

Garry DeGraff, 81, of Carl Junction, Mo., died at his home December 6, 2021. Born August 3, 1940, in Badger, Garry was the son of Elmer and Lorena DeGraff. They preceded him in death. Garry was also preceded in death by his brother Gene DeGraff and his wife Arletta and brother-in-law Bill Watson.

Jerrold Brewer, 68, Galena

Jerrold “Jerry” Lynn Brewer, 68, of Galena, died unexpectedly at his home Wednesday, December 1, 2021. Born November 21, 1953, Jerry was the son of Trig Brewer and Ruby Louise (Jarvis) Brewer. They preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his brother, James “Jim” Brewer.

Lloyd Morrill, 73, Riverton

Lloyd “Butch” Morrill, 73, of Riverton, died December 7, 2021 at his home after a long fight against Leukemia. Born August 30, 1948, Butch was the son of Lloyd and Grace Morrill. They preceded him in death.

Margie Fouts

Margie Lou Heckes Fouts, 96, of Oswego, died December 7, 2021 at Columbus. Born October 2, 1926, in El Reno County Oklahoma, Margie was the daughter of Clarence and Gladys Heckes. Margie and Glen L Fouts were united in marriage November 11, 1955.

Patty Dill

Patty Overman Dill, 69, of Maysville, Mo., died Saturday, December 4, 2021 at her home. Born January 20, 1952 in Oswego, Patty was the daughter of Don and Dorothy Overman. She was a graduate of Columbus Unified High School with the class of 1970.

Jack Walden

Jack Walden, 81, of Baltimore, Maryland, died November 26, 2021. He was a beloved brother, father and friend. Born September 19, 1940 in Curranville, Jack was the son of Jack and Marjorie Hardesty Walden. They preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his brother Kenneth.

Lee J. Woodrum, 83, of Weir, died Tuesday, November 30, 2021. He was born June 25, 1938. If you knew Lee you know that he loved his family and cherished his friends. As a longtime educator, he also enjoyed learning new things.
