Jimmie (Jim) Floyd McConnell 84, of Columbus, formerly of Arkansas City, died Saturday, December 18, 2021 at the Labette Health Hospital in Parsons. Born December 13, 1937 in South Haven, Jim was the son of Frank and Velma (Heuszel) McConnell.

Jacquelyn Miner, 91, Chanute

Jacquelyn L. Miner, 91, of Chanute, died December 21, 2021. Born March 2, 1930, in Baxter Springs, Jackie was the daughter of Crystal and Alton Willard. She attended school in Baxter Springs where she graduated from high school. After graduation she worked at the local newspaper.

Shawn McCumber

Shawn Michael McCumber, 40, of Carthage, MO., formerly of Galena, died unexpectedly Friday, December 17, 2021 at his home. He was born September 14, 1981 in Baxter Springs. Shawn was a graduate of Galena High School with the class of 2000. He then attended college at Pittsburg State University.

Carter R Draeger, 85, of Columbus, died at 12:20 p.m., Sunday, December 19, 2021 at Quaker Hill Manor, Lowell following an illness. Born March 18, 1936 on his family farm, in rural Columbus, Carter was the son of Paul and Faye (Hanks) Draeger. Carter was a lifetime resident here.

Judy Parham, Miami, Okla.

Judy Ann Parham, 78, of Miami, Okla., died Friday, December 17, 2021 at Freeman Hospital in Joplin, Mo. Born July 15, 1943 in Baxter Springs, Judy was the daughter of Ward Everett and Mary Elizabeth (Gillespie) Paxson. She had lived in the Miami Okla. and Afton, Okla. area all her life.

Ronald Barr, 78, Miami, Okla.

Ronald G. Barr, 78, of Miami, Okla., died Friday, December 17, 2021 at Global Higher Call Nursing in Quapaw, Okla. Ronald was born May 24, 1943 in Treece, to Melvin and Delma (Klein) Barr. They preceded him in death. Ronald was also preceded in death by his brother Jerry Barr.
