Violet Ann Span, 44 of Columbus, died Sunday, September 26, 2021 at Mercy Hospital, in Joplin, Mo. Born August 21, 1977 in Columbus, Violet was the daughter of William David Span and Patricia Ann Reynolds Span. Violet worked as a caregiver. Private graveside services will be held at a later date.

George Robert (Bob) Abbott, 88, of Baxter Springs, died Thursday, September 23, 2021, at his home, with his family by his side. Born March 2, 1933 in Overland Park, Bob was the third child of his parents, Dr. Clarence and Marguerite Abbott.

Lucille Jane (Lewis) Becker, 75, of Pittsburg died Sunday, September 26, 2021. Born November 19, 1945, in Bethel, Delaware, Lucille was the daughter of Ernest Franklin and Grace (Dickerson) Lewis. They preceded her in death.

Christina Marie Kitts, 51, of Joplin, Mo., died Friday, September 24, 2021 at Freeman West after a sudden illness. Born February 25, 1970, in Sacramento, Calif., Christina was the daughter Joseph and Velma (White) Redden. They preceded her in death. She grew up in California and Kansas.

Sandra Jean Dunaway, 82, of Quapaw, Okla. died at home September 24, 2021. She was born October 27, 1938 in Galena. Sandra was the daughter of William Woodard and Jewell (Stark) Woodard. Sandra and Lewis Dunaway, Sr. were married June 16, 1956. He preceded her in death.
