Janice Marie Johnson, 61, of Noel, Mo. died June 7, 2021, surrounded by her loving family. Born July 25, 1959, in Detroit, Mich. Janice was the daughter of Samuel and Ruby Willis. Janice graduated from Siloam Springs High School and earned her Bachelor’s Degree from John Brown University in 2009.

James “Todd” Hale, 57 of Columbus, died unexpectedly Wednesday June 2, 2021. Born June 17, 1963 in Joplin, Mo., Todd was the son of Jim and Electa Ruth Hale. He graduated from Columbus Unified High School with the class of 1981.

Billy Kelly, 72, Quapaw, Okla.

Billy Gene Kelly, 72, of Quapaw, Okla., died Thursday, June 3, 2021 at Kansas University Medical Center in Kansas City. Born June 2, 1949 in Baxter Springs, Billy was the son of Earl C. and Juanita (Johnson) Kelly.

David Wilkins, 71, Galena

David D. Wilkins, 71, of Galena, died Sunday May 30, 2021 at Mercy Hospital in Joplin, MO. He was a truck driver. Arrangements are by Midland Cremation Society of Joplin.

Robert Wells, 77, Columbus

Robert “Bob” Wells, 77, of Columbus, died at home after a long illness Wednesday, June 2, 2021. He was born November 20, 1943 in Oswego. Bob was the son of William and Martha Wells. Bob graduated from Cherokee County Rural Schools with the class of 1961.

Julia Hopkins, North Miami, Okla.

Julia Ann “Judy” Hopkins, 76, of North Miami, Okla. died Saturday, May 29, 2021 at her home. Born October 13, 1944 in Picher, Judy was the daughter of Carl and Opal Mae (Cole) Chazell. She had lived in the Picher, Okla. and Miami, Okla. area all her life.

Lora June Ashens, 93, of Galena, died Wednesday, April 14, 2021 at the age of 93 years. She was residing at the residence of her son and daughter in Los Angles, Calif.

William Robert Lee Rowe

William Robert Lee Rowe, 76, of Oswego, died May 26, 2021 from injuries received in an auto accident south of Parson. Born May 22, 1945 in Great Bend, Bill was the son of Fredrick and Esther Irene (Pinney) Rowe. He had lived in the Oswego area since 1966.

Arthella B. Eby

Arthella B. Eby, 80 of Quapaw, Okla., died Sunday, May 30, 2021 at Mercy Hospital, in Joplin, Mo. Born May 6, 1941 in Vernal, Utah, Arthella was the daughter of Robert Dallas and Althea (Rogers) Bodily. Arthella and Paul Ray Eby were united in marriage August 24, 1966.
