City of Columbus Court Docket

The following persons are scheduled to appear before Judge John Bullard in Columbus Municipal Court Monday, September 13 at 4 p.m. Jason R. Bitner, 39, Carl Junction, Mo., is scheduled for an initial appearance on charges of illegal registration. Cameron Blansett, 24, Bentonville, Ark.

Labette County Jail Report

Bryant Vincent McQuarie, 31, was arrested Sunday by Oswego Police officers on charges of disorderly conduct, criminal damage to property and interference with Law Enforcement officer; obstruct, resist or oppose and is being held in lieu of $728.50 bail.

Cherokee County Jail Report

Gary Wayne La-Turner, 58, was arrested Saturday by Galena Police officers on charges of failure to appear and is being held without bail.

Columbus Fall Cleanup begins in Ward 1 today and tomorrow, (September 13, 14) and will continue to Ward two on Wednesday and Thursday, Ward three on Friday and Monday (September 20). Ward 4 pick-up will be on Tuesday and Wednesday (September 21, 22) and Ward 5 Thursday and Friday.

Weir Homecoming weekend planned

The 86th annual Weir Homecoming will kick-off with the famous free bean and chili feed beginning at 5 p.m. The event is sponsored by the Weir Civic Club and will offer events continually from the bean feed through a Saturday night street dance featuring the live band “Copperhead.

Baxter Co-op lot covered with goo

A spill of over 2,000 gallons of cattle feed manufactured a the Farmers Coop plant in Baxter Springs early Sunday morning. The 3,000-gallon tank contained cattle feed somewhat the consistency of molasses.
