Virginia May Allen

Virginia May Allen, 74, of Oswego died October 29, 2023, surrounded by her family. Virginia was the ninth of 12 children born to Ruth Ashley and Alfred Donaldson October 20, 1949. She was born in Alpena Pass, Arkansas. The family relocated to Oswego in her youth.

Alan R. Conard

Alan R. Conard, 73, of Chetopa, died at 8:20 a.m., Thursday, October 26, 2023. Born July 29, 1950 in Oswego, Alan was the son of Raymond Dean and Bonnie Lou (Hatfield) Conard. They preceded him in death. Alan was also preceded in death by a brother, Steven Dean Conard.

Ann Gertrude Everett, 89, of Scammon, died October 28, 2023, at her home. Ann was born July 5, 1934, to Joe and Gertrude (Pargen) Grant in Scammon. She attended grade school in Scammon. She graduated from Columbus High School in Columbus.

Kathy L. Godin, 76, of West Mineral, died October 23, 2023 at her home in West Mineral. Born July 8, 1947 in Bonner Springs, Kathy was the daughter of Max A. and Alice L. Dickson Millsap. She lived for most of her life in West Mineral, moving from Bonner Springs. She was graduated from Cameron, Mo.

Dexter Wayne Opela,63, of Columbus died Sunday, October 22, 2023. Born Monday, August 8, 1960, in Muskogee, Okla., Dexter was the son of Albert Wayne and Wilma Jean (McCrackin) Opela. Dexter and Sammye Dawn Hicks were united in marriage June 24, 1988, at Chandler, Oklahoma.

Margaret Mae Naomi (McGown) McColm, 87, of rural Columbus died Tuesday evening, October 17, 2023, at her home with her faithful companion, Suzie by her side. She had finished her chores for the day, had supper with her daughter Athena McColm. After Athena went home, she sat down for the evening.

Antonio Latorre, 57, of Columbus, died suddenly, October 19, 2023 at the Mercy Hospital in Columbus. Born September 21, 1966, in Chicago, Ill. Antonio was the son of Ruben Lopez and Barbara Jean (Peltz) Lopez. Antonio worked for Jarrett Construction as a foreman.

Bonnie Denney, 83, of Talala, Okla., died Wednesday, October 18, 2023. Born April 12, 1940, in Tovey, Illinois, Bonnie was the daughter of Alvie Lionell Lewis and Helen Ruth Richter Lewis. Bonnie completed her secondary education in Tulsa, Okla.
