Karl C. McColm, 88, of rural Girard, died at 2:30 p.m., Saturday, October 21, 2023, at Ascension Via Christi Hospital. Born March 25, 1935 at Carona, Karl was the son of Guy F. and Geraldine (Grandle) McColm. He went to West Mineral grade school, and then went to rural Mt. Pleasant School.

Montie Spurgeon, Grove, Okla.

Montie Lee Spurgeon, 57, of Grove, Okla., died Wednesday, October 18, 2023, at Integris Miami Hospital. Born December 14, 1965, in Baxter Springs, Montie was the son of Lonnie and Margie (Turner) Spurgeon, Sr. He had lived in the area most of his life and was a guttering installer.

Carolyn Tomlinson, 67, Oswego

Carolyn Jean (Tyson) Tomlinson, 67, of Oswego, died Saturday, October 14, 2023, at home surrounded by her family after a lengthy illness. Born August 18, 1956, Carolyn was the daughter of Logan and Evalee Tyson. She was the youngest of four daughters.

Karen L. Johnston, 67 of Oswego, died peacefully at 12:49 p.m. Monday, October 16, 2023 at her home, surrounded by family, after a battle with cancer. Born in Great Bend, August 13, 1956, Karen was the daughter of Doyle and Ina “Lea” (Minson) Folkerts.

Michael Ray Letner, 70, resident of the Medicalodge in Columbus died October 7, 2023. Born in Hastings, Nebraska May 5, 1953 Michael was the son of Kenneth and Viola Letner. They preceded him in death. Michael was also preceded in death by a sister Patricia and brother Richard.
