Bill D. Lewman, 85, died peacefully at his home in Baxter Springs June 3, 2022. Born March 20, 1937, in Galena, Bill was the son of Haven and Faith Lewman. They preceded him in death. Bill was also preceded in death by a daughter Misty.

Norma Jean Ewan, 85, of St. Paul, died at 5:27a.m., Saturday, June 4, 2022, at Prairie Mission Village following an illness. Born February 14, 1937, in Farlington, Norma was the daughter of Vaughn and Ella Mae (Buffalo) Russell.

Eric Hughes, 55, Tulsa, Okla.

Eric Williamson Hughes, 55, of Tulsa, Okla., formerly of Baxter Springs died unexpectedly March 28, 2022, at his home. Born December 21, 1966, Eric was the son of Tom and Mary Lou Williamson. He grew up in Baxter Springs and graduated from Baxter Springs High School with the class of 1985.

Erma McClure, 82, Columbus

Erma June McClure, 82, of Columbus, died at 7:40 a.m., Friday, June 3, 2022, at the home of her daughter. Born October 29, 1939, in Pittsburg, Erma was the daughter of Homer and Orpha (Cox) West. She graduated from Pittsburg High School.

Ralph Mock, 82, Council Grove

Ralph Eugene Mock, 82, formerly of Columbus, died Sunday, May 29, 2022, at Diversicare of Council Grove with his family by his side. Born February 17, 1940, on a farm near Melrose, Ralph was the son of Roy and Nora Headley Mock Ralph attended grade school in a one room schoolhouse near Melrose.

Thomas Begando, 80, Columbus

Thomas E. Begando, 80, died Friday, June 3, 2022, surrounded by family. Born May 22, 1942 in Roseland, Tom, graduated from Cherokee County Rural High School with the class of 1960. He later attended Pittsburg State University for two years and received a diploma in refrigeration.

Jason Lipari, 51, Jasper, Mo.

Jason Alan Lipari, 51, of Jasper, Mo. was pronounced dead at 7:31 a.m. Wednesday, June 1 from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident northeast of Avilla, Mo. Jason was born November 13, 1970 in Joplin, Mo. His parents were James Patrick and Mary Lucille (Roy) Lipari.

Betty Grant, 89, Frontenac

Betty R. Grant, 89 of Frontenac, died Wednesday June 1, 2022, at the Via Christi Hospital in Pittsburg. Born February 11, 1933 in Capaldo, Betty was the daughter of Ugo and Elizabeth (Ortaldo) Pacconi.

William Morgan, 87, Pittsburg

William Thomas “Tom” Morgan, 87, of Pittsburg, died Tuesday, May 24, 2022 at Ascension Via Christie Village. Born in 1934 at Mulberry, Tom was the son of Clayton and Lauretta Morgan. He attended Curranville schools and graduated from College High School in Pittsburg with the class of 1951.

John Davis, 76, Parsons

John C. Davis, 76, of Parsons, died at 3:34 a.m., Tuesday, May 31, 2022, at Labette Health. Born March 7, 1946, in Parsons, John was the son of John Carl and Mildred Opel (Edwards) Davis. He grew up in the Parsons area and attended school in Altamont.
