Howard D. “Dean” Riddle, 65, of Chetopa, died Sunday, May 28, 2023, at his home. Born March 16, 1958, in Steeleville, Mo., Howard Dean was the son of Howard Riddle and Deloris (Furnas) Wiens. For many years, Dean trained mules and broke horses and he loved team roping.

Radgie Wayne King, 46, of Baxter Springs, died May 11, 2023, at Freeman Hospital, in Joplin, Mo. Born January 8, 1977, Radgie was the son of Shirley and Joe King. They preceded him in death.

Alice Marie Hickman Dixon, 88, formerly of Joplin, Mo., died Friday, May 19, 2023, at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska following an unexpected illness. Born October 12, 1934 in Welch, Okla., Alice was the daughter of Theodore Clair Hickman and Mabel May Ellsworth Hickman.

Lynda J. Thompson, 64 of Galena, died May 17, 2023 at Kansas City Hospice House following a short illness. Born in Baxter Springs, May 24, 1958, Lynda was the daughter of Terrill and Lois (Anderson) Ward. She graduated from Galena High School as Valedictorian with the Class of 1976.

James Frazier, 51, Grove, Okla.

James Leslie Frazier, 51, of Grove,Okla., died Sunday, May 14, 2023, at Freeman Hospital in Joplin, Mo. James, son of Debbie (Melton) Simon and Ronald Frazier, was born November 23, 1971, in Baxter Springs. His father preceded him in death. James was a devoted son, father and grandfather.

Vallie Marie Addis, 70, of Oswego, died peacefully, surrounded by family at 2:18 p.m. Wednesday, May 17 at the Kansas Heart Hospital, in Wichita.

Dewayne Monohon, 69, Pittsburg

Dewayne Allen Monohon, 69, of rural Pittsburg, died Friday, May 19, 2023 at his home. Born July 9, 1953 in Ottumwa, Iowa, Dewayne was the son of Eugene and Betty (Brown) Monohon. They preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.
